Trick R Treat: Why Entourage's Lloyd & I Could Be BFFs

Years ago I worked in Hollywood at a literary management agency. We repped writers and directors, and part of my job as assistant to the two managers/owners/bosses was to do script coverage (basically, a book report on a script where you also grade it and give it to the agent so they can decide if they want to read the entire thing. I write killer loglines).

Point being...I was bored one day, having just read a God-awful script by an actor who'd dreamt himself a SciFi writer (but who should've been happy he'd had a mediocre career on a Cosby spin-off and called it a day). I went back to where we kept scripts from our current crop of writers, came across Trick 'r Treat by Mike Dougherty, and went back to my desk.

An hour later, I was done and grinning like a bandit. This was, hands down, the best Halloween film ever, and I couldn't wait to see it on the big screen.

That was 6 years ago.

Cut to 2007. Mike Dougherty (writer of "X-Men 2" and "Superman Returns") helmed the flick, Bryan Singer produced. They had a stellar cast (Anna Paquin "True Blood," Brian Cox, Tahmoh Penikett "Battlestar Galactica" and "Dollhouse"), a great shoot, and got all excited for the 2007 theatrical release...and then Warner Bros. decided to NOT RELEASE IT.

Jackasses.

Fast forward to 2009. It's now coming out on DVD Tues., Oct 6th. Do yourself a favor and run, don't walk, to the link below to order the best Halloween film you've never seen.

Do it for Lloyd -- and all of us former Lloyds of the world! Do it for puppies! And world peace!
