From CBS Sunday Morning:
After a 4 year hiatus, which included a near breakup and the sudden death of saxophonist LeRoi Moore, the Dave Matthews Band is back with a new album, Big Whiskey and the Groogrux King.
4 weeks 'til we see them (with The Boss) in London!

5,000 March Peacefully in San Diego Against Prop 8
Marched peacefully tonight with 5,000 other rockin' San Diegans to support my BFF Michael, his beautiful partner Ming, and all others who deserve the right to marry.
Prop 8 Upheld
Even though the California Supreme Court upheld Prop 8, the 18,000 gay marriages that took place are being upheld and remain valid.
Baby steps.
I came across an interesting article that points out only 41.5% of Californians voted in favor of it. Here's the math:
"It passed with only about 52.3 percent of the vote. Voter turnoutfor the initiative was about 79.4 percent. Since 52.3 percent of 79.4 percent is about 41.5 percent, that means that only 41.5 percent of California voters approved this amendment to their state constitution."

So our state budget needs 2/3 majority to pass, but an amendment to our state's constitution that takes rights away from a minority group can have less than half the state's approval?

Prop 8 Ruling Coming This Morning
Today the California Supreme Court will rule on the fate of Prop 8. I came across an interesting article that points out only 41.5% of Californians voted in favor of it. Here's the math:

The Vichko Family Vacation, Disney-Style
Here's all the pics from our Disney trip in January 2009. Apologies to Kate Monster for being a slacker daughter and taking 4 months to post them. Since I actually planned the whole trip and had a lot of super cool surprises waiting for everyone when they arrive, I'm sure she'll forgive me.

Why I Love Eddie...
More Disney pics coming tomorrow, but here's a preview:
What's funny about this picture?
(If you need a hint, here's Exhibit A.)
And here's a video of both kids in Epcot.

Google's New Wonder Wheel Rocks
According to ZDNet, Google's new Wonder Wheel is "a graphical way to explore topics by clicking on related searches that go deeper into the subject of the main query."

Pretty cool stuff. Very mind mappy and visual for search. You can read Google’s announcement about the Wonder Wheel from their Searchology event, and see the search I did on English labs.

Catalina Here We Come
We're heading over to Catalina Island tomorrow for the weekend with a bunch of our friends. It will be nice to get away, relax, laugh, and have fun with everyone. Pics upon our return! For now, here's a teaser of the main (and pretty much only) town on the island, Avalon:

ps - It's been 10 years since I last visited Catalina, and that was a trip with Kate Monster and Michael (the day after I learned I was cancer-free the first time). Ironic that I'm returning 1 week after finding out my latest scare ended up being benign. Catalina must have that effect on my body!
